Finding this place isn’t exactly easy, but it’s located around the vicinity. The nasi lemak here is said to be the best tasting one, in ratio to its price and portion. Each serving comes with a large bowl of rice cooked with a good amount of coconut milk, spicy anchovies sambal, peanuts, crispy anchovies, cucumber and finished with a sunny side up. There’s also additional fried chicken for those who are feeling a little luxurious, paying an additional RM3 but is definitely well worth the money.
Known as Senyum Senyum Selalu, this happy-go-lucky stall offers delicious nasi lemak either wrapped and ready to be taken away, or on a plate for those who wants to dine in. Regardless of which you choose, they are incredibly delicious as the richness of the coconut milk really comes through, working in harmony with the sambal and its relevant sides.
Kedai Makanan dan Minumam Ikhbal is a great place for Malaysians to gather and have breakfast. Offering the classics such as nasi lemak, eggs and toasts, kuihs and many more, it’s easy to see why it’s always packed in the morning. Their nasi lemak bungkus is slightly different from others, as their main ingredient is salted fish, which gives it that edgy taste to the nasi lemak. Despite that, it is still delicious and many would still queue for it.
If you’re a fan of having plenty of other side dishes together with your plate of nasi lemak, then this place is definitely the one for you. Packing in a whole lot of flavour from all the sambal, anchovies, peanuts, fried chicken, squid, marinated vegetables and many more, this plate of nasi lemak is an mouth-gasm on its own.
Yes, you’ve heard that right, nasi lemak POWER! This place packs in a punch of flavours into the sambal, and can be considered as one of the most boring looking nasi lemak available. It offers rice, sambal and a small piece of chicken, but the flavours of them combined together is absolutely delightful. Definitely worth trying out if you enjoy spicer version of sambal.
Muthu Curry House’s version of the nasi lemak is a little more modern. With more stuff on the plate and making sure it’s full to the brim, it comes with a good amount of rice, anchovies, cucumbers, peanuts, sunny side up and sambal. Flavour-wise, pretty good but definitely not something that is out of this world. In any case, it’s a good plate of nasi lemak that majority can enjoy.
